M&S has had to put a buying limit on this sell-out Christmas item
The light-up snow globe gin bottles are proving particularly popular...
Marks & Spencer has had to put a buying limit on their popular light-up, snow-globe inspired gin bottles after the sell-out item sparked a frenzy with shoppers.
The £18 70cl gin comes in Clementine and Rhubarb flavours, and both contain 23-carat edible gold leaf, which creates a sparkly snow globe effect when shaken.
The snow globe gin bottles are like gold dust, and stores are now having to limit the number that people can buy at once, limiting the number of sales of bottles to two per customer.
With the festive drink unavailable online and flying off the shelves in stores around the country, fans have been sent into a frenzy and shoppers are doing all they can to get their hands on a bottle.
Customers across the country have been going so wild for it, that M&S stores declare it as "Breaking News!!" when they announce new stock on social media.
Shoppers are taking to Twitter to complain about not being able to find the item.
“Hi @marksandspencer, trying to find snow globe gin, but despite calling into our nearest store regularly for the past three weeks, a 20-mile round trip, they never have any in stock, and I cannot buy it off your website. Any thoughts?” one person tweeted.

"Again another failing I've been trying to buy it for over a month!!" another person wrote, while a more successful shopper said "I got mine in Blackburn this morning after going in every day for over a week, thanks Blackburn".
To cope with demand, M&S has now also unveiled a miniature bauble version:

Some entrepreneurial minds have now started re-selling theirs on places like eBay and Facebook Marketplace – for double and even triple the original price.
One customer is selling the M&S gin bottle on eBay for £60 – more than three times the original price – while some are even taking their chances on selling an empty bottle for £40 – more than double the original price.
Dozens of others are also selling the liqueur on Facebook marketplace for £45 or more, while many are excitedly sharing online when their local branch has some in stock.
The light-up snow globe gin bottles are available in Marks & Spencer stores around the UK. We advise to call ahead to avoid disappointment.
