Bobby Berk reveals the secret to bringing neon into a sophisticated scheme
The designer has addressed the bold palette – and shares how to make it work in the most stylish of homes
Interiors expert Bobby Berk has addressed the audacious color palette that is making waves in the industry: Neon. It is thought that neon favors the bold; however, the Queer Eye star has revealed that these bright hues can work in all homes by reshaping one key misconception.
Sharing his modern decorating ideas in the wake of his new collaboration with Yellowpop, Bobby Berk reveals that 'while neon can feel like a bold choice,' his collection is actually 'mostly a neutral color palette.'
'Since it is a "bright" moment for any space, think of it as a piece of art,' Bobby adds in an exclusive interview with Livingetc.
To ensure the neon remains sophisticated – rather than overpowering – Bobby recommends balancing your room so that the neon can make the statement you intend without fighting for attention.
'Depending on where you place it and what surrounds the light, ensure it is balanced, and it's not too cluttered with other items that surround it,' he says. 'I would suggest keeping all surrounding items (if any) neutral and at a minimum.'
Now you know Bobby's interior design idea, it is only natural to invest in his new collection with Yellowpop. His six capsule pieces celebrate the designer's secret and pay homage to themes that reflect his sought-after style.
The neon pieces also invoke Bobby's values of inclusivity and creativity with a minimalist rainbow design. He also designed an upside-down representation of the phrase 'Think Differently' that is set to be the focal point your home needs this season.

'Working with Yellowpop was as fun as the product is! They were a perfect partner to emphasize my love for art and design, and how you can truly bring a unique item into any space' Bobby adds in his discussion of the partnership.
'They understood my brand and minimalist approach to design, and together we dreamed up pieces that would resonate with anyone; they can literally light up a room… The entire assortment will touch spaces for anyone. That to me, is the most important part, inclusion and brightening someone's walls.'
This is the lighting idea that will make waves over house party season and far beyond. You can shop the collection via Yellowpop here.
