Livingetc Style Awards 2021 winners: Lighting category
The winners of the Lighting category at the Livingetc Style Awards 2021 are announced
As chosen by our judges, Livingetc editor Pip McCormac, Livingetc Editorial Director Sarah Spiteri, Livingetc columnists and interior designers Linda Boronkay and Minnie Kemp and fashion stylist legend Lucinda Chambers, these are the best pieces of design for kids that you'll want to use in their bedrooms and nurseries now.
Ceiling Light - winner: Bateman Chandelier by Margit Wittig
Originally conceived for an exhibition showcasing fine art, interiors and vintage fashion, this 12-arm chandelier takes inspiration from the colours of a collage by artist Barbara Campbell Thomas.
Each of the 38 resin components are handmade, cast individually, sanded, polished and then patinated with no two being the same.
“This is just so original” says Minnie Kemp. “I love the use of painted resin in the design.”

Floor Lamp - winner: Ridotti Floor Lamp by Lights & Lamps
Since Lights and Lamps launched last year, its keen take on pricing and brilliant eye for design has seen Livingetc feature - and its team covet - many of its pieces. Our judging panel were particularly impressed by this adaptable lamp which combines aged brass legs, a champagne plated glass globe and a natural raffia shade that gently diffuses the light.
These varied and contrasting textures come together to create a simple but striking form.
“This is a very affordable piece that had loads of character” says Lucinda Chambers. “It’s a quirky mix of materials and you could use it anywhere.”

Wall Light - winner: Medusa by Julian Chichester
The artistry in every piece from Julian Chichester means the brand's work regularly features in Livingetc. From bar cabinets to side tables, each piece is crafted to be beautiful, often architectural, and intriguing to the eye.
This wall light is a case in point. Taking its design cues from the work of French designer Jean Royère, this 4-bulb wall sconce features sculptural, spiral arms and is finished in hand applied Faux Red Gesso.
“This a spectacular and cheerful design and you can really have fun with the shades too” says Minnie Kemp.
