You're Guaranteed to Maximize Your Storage Space with These 12 Chic Closet Organizers, Currently on Sale
If you tend towards the 'roll and stuff' technique when it comes to organizing your closet, now may be the time to fix things with massive Memorial Day sale discounts
I’ve just relocated from the other side of the world, and right now, I’m still living out of my suitcase. As a former — and self-confessed — owner of a ‘floordrobe’ I didn’t think it would be this hard. But it is. My clothes are constantly crinkled, I can never find what I need when I need it, and I’m sure I’ve forgotten some of my favorite pieces that remain squished at the very bottom of my bag.
As such, I’m dreaming of the day I get to move into my new apartment (and closet!), and hereby swear not to take it for granted. I’m using this time to research, plan and buy all the best and most stylish closet organizers out there so that everything will be neat, efficiently organized, chic and most importantly, not on the floor.
With Memorial Day sales well underway and many of the pieces I’m picking currently marked down, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite finds with you, in case your closet could also do with a tidy up.
On sale closet organizers to shop
Amazon has endless options when it comes to closet organizers, but not all of them are quite as aesthetic as this stackable drawer. It also comes in a pale yellow with a purple handle, and a soft pink with a green handle, and would look great stacked either monochromatic or with a mix of the colors. They'd be a great option if your closet currently doesn't have drawers and you want somewhere tidy to store small intimates or even hair accessories or jewelry.
I've always loved Hay's colorful storage crates when it comes to organizing anything. I like how you can still slightly see what's inside so it doesn't get forgotten, and things stay nice and ventilated (an important factor when it comes to storing things long-term). The fact they're made from recycled plastic is even better. My best bit of advice: buy more than you think you need. You'll find a use for these all over your home.
I'm a big believer that even the small and most functional of pieces can still be beautiful and considered, and this wall hook, included in the current Urban Outfitters sale, is here to prove me right. Whether you hang it on your wall, the back of your door or inside you closet doors, it makes hanging handbags, coats, scarves and even jewelry both easy and pretty. It also comes in a light green color but in a slightly different — but equally fun — squiggly shape.
This fold-out jewelry case makes excellent use of very little space, meaning your treasures and trinkets will not only be organized, but secure. While designed for travel, there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't use it year-round in your closet, and it only makes things easier whenever you do get up and leave town. It has great reviews and an even better price right now.
Depending on the style of frame you have, under your bed is valuable closet space and there are plenty of organizers out there — including this felted storage box — to help you make the most of it. Available in multiple sizes, shapes and colours, including a bright 'Banana', these storage tubs can go anywhere in your closet and would be great for storing things away when you might not need them for a while, like your winter clothes during summer.
This simple and affordable hanger can do it all: belts, ties, scarves, handbags, necklaces...the list goes on. You simply hang it next to your hangers in your closet, and can spin it around to easily get to what you're looking for. It also comes in black if you want it to match other hardware in your space, and if I were you, I'd buy these as a discounted four-pack as you're bound to be coming back for more.
Yet more proof that simple storage needn't be boring, I'm envisaging this box, which has been designed by Jonathan Adler, would be the perfect place to store precious shoes, handbags or other delicate items in your closet. Its glossy lacquered finish and luxe velvet lining make quite the statement, not to mention its bold pattern. It comes in three sizes, and looks great as a stack.
A leather laundry hamper? Yes please. Designed by German-based Jannie Ellenberger, this stylish hamper is one you won't want to hide away — even when it's full of clothes. Its tall design will ensure things stay out of sight, while the built-in handle makes it easy to carry to the laundry. Reviewers say it's sturdy, looks expensive, and fits in seamlessly with their interiors.
These little bits of plastic may not seem like much, but they may just be the secret to tripling the size of your closet. Simply slide one over the hook of a hanger and you can vertically hang up to four things in a cascading chain. Buy them in packs of 20, 40 or 60 pieces. They work with all kinds of hangers and come highly recommended by reviewers.
If you've only got one closet rod and you'd prefer another one to double your storage, this is your answer. Simply loop it over your existing rod and hang things off the lower section. It's made from heavy-duty chrome-plated steel, so it's designed to last and you can even adjust the height of the drop to work with whatever you're hanging above it. Some reviewers experienced issues with this, though, so just make sure to check measurements before committing to it.
One way to help make your wardrobe look organized is to have matching hangers. This style from Macy's is made to clamp on pants so you don't have to deal with creases after leaving them folded. The design is sturdy enough to hold them up without leaving any indents on the waistband. This discounted price is for a set of 16, and the same cherry red color comes in a classic shirt hanger too, so you can get a completely cohesive look.
I'd be remiss to not include a hanging closet organizer here, and this one is about as chic as they come. While on the chunkier side, it's a great option if you're lacking drawers or shelves and have too much hanging space. You could even use it to store shoes. Hangers on the side are perfect for belts, bags and scarves, and most reviewers praise it for its size and sturdiness.
