Discover the secrets of the festive table
This season John Lewis is offering insider knowledge from its Home Design Stylists on how to create a show-stopping table setting. From Wednesday 7 November until the beginning of December, the John Lewis Style team will be sharing seasonal secrets and helpful hacks on how to sprinkle some Christmas magic at mealtimes through a series of 30 minute complementary 'Colour My Christmas' Masterclasses throughout its stores.
Running on a drop-in basis, there are over 200 masterclasses, with three colour themes to choose from: Emerald, Ruby and Amber. So it's easy to select a style that suits, get the lowdown on how to create the look – and while you're there, why not pick up baubles, ribbons and tags, plus table runners, dinnerware, napkins, glassware or anything else you need to set your own seasonal tone.
INSPIRED BY NATURE
Emerald – our favourite theme – takes its influence from an enchanting winter wonderland. It's all deep glamorous greens, beautiful peacock blues and splashes of gorgeous gold for a head turning table that dares to be different.
VIVID AND VIBRANT
Opt for Ruby and have rich velvety textures and pops of bold red against an earthy backdrop. At this masterclass you'll learn how to balance colours beautifully for a fresh update and a welcoming festive scene.
TRADITION WITH TASTE
Amber is a more familiar look, with a warm and rustic theme. Natural woodland elements, like pine cones and spruce, get a shimmering boost withbeautiful tones of copper, amber and rich chestnut for those cosy yuletide touches.
Of course, if you have your own ideas, go off-piste and mix it up with some of the other looks available in store.
The masterclasses are being held at John Lewis stores nationwide including Oxford Street, White City, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Poole, York, Newcastle and more. Check here to see if your local store is among them.
